It’s the most wonderful time of the year, peeps. Holiday lights, festive attractions, dope live music, spectacular performance and family traditions are just a few ways to celebrate the season in Philadelphia.

In Philly you can go old school and celebrate the season with holiday traditions like the long-running Christmas Light Show at Macy’s. Or, you can go new school and catch live music and performances by staples from the local creative scene like Stacey “Flygirrl” Wilson and Jazmine Sullivan.

Beat Street

It’s about to go down at Philly hotspot Silk City! Beat Street Jam is this newest Philly jam session to hit the music scene. Brought to you by Steve McKie (Jill Scott), Adam Blackstone (Jay Z, Justin Timberlake, Rihanna) and Love My Life Entertainment, Beat Street Jam is a live show mixed in with a jam session and an open mic. If you love discovering on-the-rise Philly talent and sitting in with some of the best musicians in the game, then this is one event you won’t want to miss. Macy’s Christmas Light Show

A Philadelphia tradition since 1956, the Christmas Light Show at Macy’s in Center City illuminates a large wall inside the Wanamaker building, a National Historic Landmark, with almost 100,000 LED lights that dance to the sounds of the Wanamaker Organ. Head to the third floor of Macy’s to experience the 6,000-square-foot “Dickens Village”, which brings Charles Dickens’ classic A Christmas Carolto life with more than 100 fully animated figures reenacting 26 of the story’s most memorable moments.

Blue Cross RiverRink Winterfest

Building off the success of the summer’s Spruce Street Harbor Park, the revamped Blue Cross RiverRink Winterfest features ice skating, food and drink, shopping and family-fun on the waterfront. The centerpiece is the Blue Cross RiverRink, a regulation-sized ice skating rink at Penn’s Landing with spectacular views of the Benjamin Franklin Bridge and Delaware River. Comcast Holiday Spectacular
